Einstein, Tesla, or Stephen Hawking, or do believe someone else is bigger genius than these people?

I'm assuming that by "our century" you mean the last 100 years and not the 20th vs the 21st century.

I always hate to go for the obvious answer, but it has to be Einstein. Tesla was brilliant, but he was more of an engineer, was very creative and had genius insights. I'm a huge Hawking fan, but I don't think his genius is quite as great as good old Albert.

Einstein took science (and scientific thought) in a completly new direction. He did something that it takes true genius to do. He thought thoughts that no one else was thinking at the time and were in fact discouraged by popular wisdom of the day.

That said, I think that you'll see fewer "rock star" scientists in the future. Collaboration and cooperation are the big words in science today. If you look at the citations and contributors pages of most scientific papers published today, you'll see that the big work is being done by teams of geniuses.

Two other scientific geniuses in the running for the top spot include Niels Bohr for his work on Quantum Mechanics (Einstien contributed to QM, too, by the way)
And Richard Feynman.

First of all, Einstein and Tesla did not live in this century. They died in the 20th century. Regardless, I think to name any one person as the "biggest genius" does a disservice to the others who have contributed to their respected fields. Knowledge builds on knowledge and many have played their part.

It's hard to say at this point, because the century is only Seven Years old. I guess we'll have to stick around to see. A child born this year can probably expect to live to be about a Hundred.
