Background info: I have a lot of pain because I had a peice of bone removed from my ankle 5 years ago, and the doctor cut a tendon and didn't soucher it back correctly or something. Also, I have pes planus (which is commonly referred to as flat feet). Because of these 2 things, I have a chronic severely sprained ankle on my right ankle. I used to take darvoset and/or vicodin to ease the pain, but ran out 2.5 weeks ago (i have an appointment for my doctor next monday).

Okay, on to the question. My ankle is really really hurting, and I got up to get a bottle of water from the fridge, which made it hurt way more. When I sat back down, I had a sudden pain in my ankle and then vomitted. Is it a coincidence, or are they related?
Thanks for any info.

They are most certainly related. I am speaking from experience here....currently recovering from an operation to correct the condition that you mentioned. I am still experiencing ankle pain from time to time though the surgery was about a month ago. Whenever the pain occurs I become extremely nauseated.

to answer your question yes severe pain can cause a person to vomit. it's also possible that you're suffering from withdrawl from the darvoset/vicodin. *they're controlled substances for a reason
i would try to see if you could get into see your doctor sooner.

(hope your ankle gets better, understand the pain of chronic ankle problems)

It more desirable than likely is attainable. Many vomit from passing kidney stones or suffering by ability of a migrain. even as endorphins kick in like they do even as someone is in wonder from intense harm, between the adverse outcomes is they each and every from time to time vomit. it is an indication of very serious soreness requiring medical interest.

Severe pain can cause vomiting and other things such as sweating, pacing, shallow breathing and the like. Deep severe pain is thought to stimulate the para-sympathetic nervous system producing the unpleasant feelings including nausea and vomiting.

Absolutely they are connected. This happens all the time. Also men are notorious for having to throw up after they've been struck in the testicles. It hurts that much.
