I know there great singers but why are those two women looked at the most.

Gay bars and clubs were often raided by police at Stonewall. Judy Garland had died, and the drag queens were mourning here death. The police had raided one last time when the drag queens stood up to the police, causing the riots at Stonewall. This is the birth of "gay rights" as we know it. Judy Garland is a symbol of modern gay rights.
Drag queens always emulated powerful strong women!

Chalk me up as another gay male who's not at all into Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, and Cher. But, for some odd reason, I do know that Streisand's first name is spelled Barbra, not Barbara.

Gay men worship Judy Garland because she is a tragic figure. She had problems with depression, self-esteem, drug and alcohol abuse and a lot of other problems. Many gay men identify with these problems and empathize with Judy. Gay men worship Cher because she's the ultimate drag queen.
