In the end I think you have to let him make up his own mind, but I do think you should talk to him about your concerns. A relationship is a partnership, so you should both get the opportunity to express your views.
My husband and I play an online game together (we play Guild Wars because it has no subscription fees), but we set aside off-line time that is just for us. Maybe you could try to find a compromise, find a game you both like and try to play together, but take some time to date as well. He would probably appreciate the effort, as I see so many players who say that they wish their mates would join them.
Good luck.

I agree with Saph 100%. My boyfriend and I play WoW together, but we also make time to do other things, like go out and see a movie or hang out with friends. Just be sure to make it absolutely clear what you want from him, that he can't play the game when it's "your" time (unless it's agreed otherwise), and if he cares he'll listen and won't let it interfere with your relationship. Or you could play the trial with him, and see for yourself what the game is really like. Making a relationship work is all about compromise.
And at any rate, it's not as offensive as Saints Row, and he will likely quit playing that game in favor of WoW. My boyfriend used to play GTA all the time and now he barely touches it.

Is it well worth paying for? once you've performed Warcraft and enjoied it yeah it would want to correctly be well worth paying for. I have performed on and rancid for 2 years now. definite the game might want to be addicting. On nights after I even haven't to any extent further something else to do i will lose some hours certainly. after I have something to do, and that i play previously hand i will frequently watch teh clock, or se teh in sport alarm clock to allow me understand it really is time to pass. I have not in any respect referred to as in ill with "WoW" fever nor have i been later for something by using sport. it really is in uncomplicated words that a sport. definite it may get uninteresting at circumstances, and somewhat repetative, yet no worse than the different sport I have ever performed. i pass with the above suggestion, see about getting between the free 10 day memberships, it would want to be sensible you get a pbetter attitude.

many people here had very good thought out responses!
let him try the game, it should be his decision and not yours. but do set some boundaries - when you two are hanging out on your two days together - it has to be time he spends away from the computer, and no, or very limited talk about the game.
i'd even suggest that maybe you should get the ten day trial and try and play along with him - you'll find that there are actually many many gals that love the game - and you may find that you're one of them! besides - if you both start playing you may be able to "see" him more often through the game - where you could quest together and chat online!

well it is his decision of course(i would hope) first off i would let him play the 10 day trial of WOW because that will tell you both if you want to buy it or not... and it is addictive i played the trial and i had one hell of a good time but its not like so addictive you cant do anything else its just fun, a good fun, so yeah i would say yeah go ahead and let him try it out for himself see if he likes it... BUT play the trial first of course its free and that will help.... its an incredibly fun game.. and he could also for like 20 dollars or so buy the 2 month card that will give him 2 months of play then he can buy another one without having to pay the price each months he can choose.....
PS. i really dont want to but in but i would hope its not only your decision if he plays... but as for getting it DO! its very very fun

You should talk it over with him, but I do agree with theothers, try it out yourself, the controls are easy to learn, and it is a lot of fun. I play with my fiance a lot, we're even in the same guild, but we do things togeher outside the game. Nothing is cooler in most gamer guys eyes then a girl that plays too.
And my boyfriend used to play GTA:San Andreas a lot before we got WoW, now he hardly touches the PS2, of course, neither do I much anymore either.
And as to highly addictive, yes it will suck you in, but is you have self-control, it shouldn't be too much of a problem

the game is highly addictive but since he is already into gaming, it wouldn't matter much i think. he would probably play it alot if he likes it and stop the other games that he is playing.

yes you should let him try but i don't see the logic in paying for a game each month($30-40AU) and then not using it because of work/school or what ever else people do while not at home
