First, please excuse my sheer idiocy when it comes to computers. Okay, I have Verizon Wireless Wireless Broadband. The icon on the task tray at the bottom of the screen tells me that my wireless network connection is not connected, but my internet is working fine. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks!

If you installed your wireless with a CD that came with your Verizon, then it is controlling your wireless configuration. You'll probably have another little icon in the bottom right.

Also, if you right-click your wireless icon in the task tray, Status, Properties, click the Wireless Networks tab, if the box Use Windows To Configure my wireless Networks ..is unchecked, then it is being controlled be another program from Verizon.

Go to your Control Panel, then Network Connections. That will show all your connections that have been configured on your computer. Usually if one of them is disabled or not working properly it will show in your task bar.

You could have two wireless configurations, so the one you're NOT using is showing in your task bar, but the one you are using does not show because it's working fine. If that makes any sense..... just a suggestion.
