do you need a wirleless router to play online and wii shop channels? please i need help before buying it

The Wii comes with a built in wireless card so you can connect to the internet via a wireless router. You can also connect directly to a broadband modem using one of the USB ports. Nintendo has an optional device that will convert the ethernet cable that connects from your modem to a USB cable to plug into the Wii.

Currently yes. Later there will be a USB adapter to connect the Wii through Ethernet cabling, but until then, WLAN is the only way to get the Wii connected to the Shop channel.

Regarding Online play: There are no games yet, that use Online Play, but if there were, you'd also need either WLAN or wait for the USB Ethernet adapter.

yes you do. that's why they call it WiFi enabled. it doesn't GIVE you internet access...it accesses yours. i recommend a Linksys router.
