what should i look for? what details stand out in a real louis vuitton?

I know this may sound stupid, but look to make sure that all of the lining faces the same direction; good fakes are hard to spot. You can take it to the Louis Vuitton store and they will tell you. Stitching should be neat and the zippers should have the logo and be easy to manage. Finally, if you can't tell for sure and you don't want to ask the people at the store, go to one of the stores and look at a bag and feel the material and lining, you should be abe to tell the difference.

First of all look at the stitching detail, it should be very neat and aligned. Then look at the LV monogram, it should be symmetrical and printed without any smudges. Every authentic LV purse has a date/serial code inside the purse, its location varies in different models. Also I can tell most counterfeit purses have a different leather used on the handle, a new LV bag should have a very pale beige color leather that changes color as it ages. The counterfeit ones often appear almost orange because it is not the natural cowhide leather LV uses. However, the best way to authenticate your purse is to take it to the vuitton store to verify its authenticity.

Look to see if the purse has an XL instead of LV and if the strap has that cheap red stuff by the hem it is fake. Also, make syre all of the zippers have a louis vuitton logo on it. the purse should also come with a little booklet or something.

there is a specific print on louis purses, which is slightly different on phooey vuitton purses, just learn the difference on the prints...

Make sure it has the stamp on the inside with a number which should match the one on the tag. Also, mine came with a dust bag, and lock and key. The biggest thing though is the authentication stamp.
