Check your screensaver settings to see if it has been set to a blank screen as the screensaver. If so, you can increase the time before the screensaver is activated in the options. (right click on desktop>properties /screen saver\ )

If that is not the problem, you can check your power settings; the computer may be going to sleep too soon after you stop using it; you can increase the time on that too. (start>settings>control panel>power options /power schemes\ )

If acklan's cure does not work, try this...

Sounds like your screensaver is on , but, you have no photo or file chosen.

click on start, then control panel, then on appearance and themes, then on screensaver and change the time next to "wait". Also, choose a screensaver at this time if you choose to.

Then click "apply" and then "OK"

Then close the windows and browse happily ever after.

Its not that serius. The screen saver properties have been changed.
Right click on the desktop, click properties, then click on the screen saver tab. Change the time to ur comfort.

If your screen saver has been turned off you should then look at two things. The power settings for your monitor and the monitor itself. Check your windows based power settings. Then check the monitor as it might set to power off to conserve energy after X amount of minutes.

Good luck...
