youth entering politics would have to upgrade their spelling.
India will not become a superpower until they can assimilate.
Which they are not doing now.

India has a lot of challenges. India needs a lot more infrastructure: roads and power plants.
Superpower status requires: a huge GNP which can afford a blue water navy - by this I mean being able to send ships around the globe. The United States has its carrier task groups which can project awesome power. The economy of India would have to grow large enough to afford several of these, at tens of billions of dollars each.
India has a very large number of very hard working people. 2020 is only thirteen years away - it takes that long in the United States for a weapon system, like a fighter plane to be developed and deployed.
I think 2020 is a bit early. But I don't think it will be long after that.

I think may be India a superpower in 2020 but it is not possible without the support of Pakistan.
because both have some thing to resolve. If some wants to get power the othere claim. If there is no corporation between both no one get power.
The population of India is very large but it is help full in attracting investors.
Pakistan is very small country in size but have enough power. It can became superpower of muslims countries within only 20 years. Pakistan can be superpower if its rulors become honest.

Date bound targets are not achievable in pluralistic diversities like India. There are many factor-forces which pull the targeted resultant in the opposite direction.
The target of being 'Superpower' is definitely NOT that of Cold War era ratings or riders. Power means "ability to work" against inertia (s), and India is and will continue to work for achieving "Super-Ability to work to be a natural power".
The arrow of progress is heading in the right direction. Youth is already in the politics, but their sum & substance has to shed relative negativities. It is a question of lessening negativities, and not increasing opportunistically groomed positivities. This role media is very well supporting.

good question.
i just read today that india will overtake the economies of uk, france in 2015 and those of germany, japan and the us in 2050.
but i believe that for india to become a true superpower, we indians need to believe in ourselves first.
cheers

the U. S. already has a in keeping with capita earnings larger than that. that's going to likely be even larger in 2020. you in addition to mght ought to evaluate disposable earnings -- people who earn much less ought to spend extra of their funds on needs. ultimately, of path, India would be extra useful than the U. S., because of the fact of its larger inhabitants. yet 2020 is i think of plenty too quickly.

I think China is going to be (if it is not already) the next superpower along with us in this world, due to their fast growing economy and military build up.

Yes. But to make it a 100% success each one of us will have to work hard, with honesty, team work and determination in our respective work areas.

More like 2050, we need them to balance China out. That's why we need strong ties to them. They are a rising power. It seems like I have answered this before.

As long as the Hindu fundamentalists don't ruin it and they don't get into another stupid war with Pakistan.
