Are all of you people really this stupid!!?!?!?? "Don't, you'll traumatize him?" What kinda of sh....? "Only if over 18"? Really people...don't be such idiotic *******!
Kid, definitely tell him.
Feel him out first, make sure he's not a homophobe like alot of the idiots on here, You might not be able to find out if he's gay without getting busted, but you can get close to him, become his buddy and feel it out yourself.
If you manage to get him alone, by becoming his buddy, and getting him to hang out with you one on one, then ease into the question. Find out what he thinks of gays, if he's cool, let him know that your gay, and that you don't mean to offend him if he's not, but that you think he's cool and would like to get to know him.
If he's cool enough to let you that close in, then even if he's not gay, he'll be cool enough not to make a big issue of it, and maybe just be friends with you.
If you can't get close to him and become his friend, then he might not have enough interest in you for you to become his boyfriend anyway.....

Dating a school friend isn't a good idea. The consequences will traumatise you both. Wait until you're out of school to date a school buddy. In the meantime, find someone not so "close to home".
The saying - Don't sh!t where you eat - applies when you get a job as well.

i'm going to agree with the dont say anything unless you're over eighteen. id like to add though, that if you do know he's gay too, then you should worry about the age thing. either way, be careful.

Well first you have to find out if he is gay. Straight people especially straight men can get violent when asked. So be careful. And no you won't "traumatize" him lol.
