Or, would you pull a Scott Peterson and never say a word?
On all the CSI type shows they always spill their guts.
I just wondered if folks would do that in real life.

I'd fess up and hope for a lighter sentence. You see how well Scott Peterson's choice of defense worked.

Well solid forensic evidence is pretty much indisputable in court
(unless of course you happen to be a famous football player) so I would be a fool in that situation to not just go for the confession and hope I could plea bargain or maybe testify against someone else involved, to get a lighter sentence : )

yes. a confession usually will get you a better sentence. however, CSI is an incredibly unrealistic show. (when was the last time you knew a crime scene investigator who interviewed witnesses, performed detective work, and caught the bad guy? not happening) so much of the stuff on there is not plausible.

in real life, csi's arent that good

just like the lawyers arent that good

just lke the judges arent that good

its tv- -just for entertainment. most real life cops/ crime investigators arent going to collect a sample from the bottom of your neighbors cousins mothers pool like in CSI. nor will they probablly look in your attic unless it smells really bad

I would not confess unless I actually commited the crime.
