I am not seeing all those bargain deals on hotels everyone is raving about! Is it because September is still far away, or do they anticipate it to be busy then?

sometimes they are high different times of the year, due to the conventions that are expected to be in town and yes they know way in advance, and tend to rip people off, because they need a room to attend,or just on vacation, best to try to book a package deal with air.
you can stay at the sahara, which is on the strip, but very far end toward downtown.... they usually have the best deals....

There are no deals anymore. Those days are gone. Vegas will soon be one of the most expensive places to get a room (because everyone wants to go there!)

You can still get deals on hotels downtown, but most of them are older places, and frankly, most people want to be on the strip.

Here is a GREAT article on hotel prices and why they will be going UP DRAMATICALLY!

Its all supply and demand. A lot of the older hotels will be destroyed soon, decreasing supply. With constant/increasing demand, the price just goes up. Its a short article; good read.

September we are in full convention mode. Plus you have the end of summer vacation or the start of the holiday, depnding what country you are from.

We are also seeing more tourists in general, so the occupancy rate is higher than years gone by.

Look downtown for your bargins
