When the product of two numbers is -60,it indictes that one of the no. is having + sign and the other is having -(negative) sign
When their sum is -11 ,it indicates that the greater no. is having - or negative sign,while the smaller number is having +(positive) sign
Add the following
If you want to find the numbers,there is an easy formula to find them
Let the nos. be a and b
Therefore,a+b= -11 and ab= -60
We know that (a-b)^2=(a+b)^2-4ab
Hence (a-b)^2=(-11)^2-4.(-60)
=121+240=361
Therefore a-b=sqrt 361=19
Now,we have got two equations,
a+b=-11 and a-b=19
By adding the two equations and dividing by 2,
we get a=4
By subtracting and dividing by 2,we get
b= -15
Therefore the nos. are 4 and -15

That would be -15 + 4 = -11 and -15 x 4 = -60

I'm assuming you meant 60, because if not, then your problem will come up with no answer.

xy = -60
x + y = -11

x + y = -11
y = -x + 11

x(-x + 11) = -60
-x^2 - 11x = -60
x^2 + 11x - 60 = 0

x = (-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)

x = (-11 ± sqrt(11^2 - 4(1)(-60)))/(2(1))
x = (-11 ± sqrt(121 + 240)))/2
x = (-11 ± sqrt(361))/2
x = (-11 ± 19)/2
x = (-30/2) or (8/2)
x = -15 or 4

ANS : 4 and -15
