The preferences of a man are biologically and evolutionarily hardwired to look for signs of youth and health in women.
Evolution made it so because men need to determine which females are best suited to carry on our genes. Healthier and more youthful women are more likely to reproduce, and be able to take care of the children after birth, hence ensuring a perpetuation of our genes.

Oh and.... girls do it to!
