F= m x a
10.0 N = 1.40 kg x a
a = 10/1.4 =7.1428571 meter/ secxsec

Newton's second law states:

F = m a

so it can be re-written through algebraic manipulation as

a = F/m

Plug the numbers in and you should get your result. (I would guess about 7 m / s^2)
