should other contries get involed in a contries civil wars ?

in the usa civil war if it wasnt for france we would be the confederet states of america and im sure there are many cases like this is it right?

I say we should support the UNs decisions on who to intervene with and not,,,,, The UN is one country one vote..... democracy just like we idealize,,,,,,,

That is an excellent and extremely difficult question. The reason, for example, that the U.S. has refused to intervene in the Darfur, Sudan genocide is that everyone is calling it, rather than 'genocide,' 'civil war.' I can't quite go all the way with the claim that just because an outside country should not interrupt another country's "private" civil war, we should leave genocide alone when we see genocide, whether it is 'part of' a civil war or not. 'Civil war' is the term being used rhetorically to justify what is more accurately 'genocide.'

So ... it's hard to say. But I believe I can say that if any country needed 'rescuing' during Bush's presidential term, the country was certainly not Iraq. It was Sudan, where it is estimated that 400,000 people have been killed since fighting began.

Didn't you mean the Revolutionary War??? France helped us with that one, but France did not help the Union in the Civil War. As a matter of fact, they continued to buy cotton as did England.

Keep in mind that of all the wars of America, the Civil War was the one with the most deaths and casualties of all the other wars combined. A very deadly undertaking with a vague idea of exactly who the enemy is. Not exactly a great Idea to get involved in a war like this. I say no!
