Someone i know uses it on wood floors does that ruin them??

Yes, it does ruin them. It strips the natural oil out of the wood, bleaches the wood and changes the appearance and compromises the longevity of the floor.
To the person who uses it on their deck twice a year: Be sure you are using a water repellant stain or something afterward. Normally you only have to apply these once a year to every 3 years. Leaving the deck unprotected will soften the wood and ulitmately the wood will absorb too much water and warp. Sure, it looks nice after you apply bleach, but the chemicals are harsh and then the wood needs protection.

i've never tried it on flooring but for the past 6-8 years i have been using it on my deck twice a year with no problems. it just makes the wood look new.

on old raw wood it might be ok but i would never use it on a good wood floor.

It will take the stain and finish off to start with....and soften and stain the wood

it simply lightens the wood when you sand hardwood floors
