Why are there so many totally nosensical statements like these all over the internet. And even here on yahoo Q's?

people say things like this because theyre retarded. yes, a lot of people DO oversimplify things, and the fact that you realize that makes me think youre not an idiot. i wish there were more people like you.

To be anti-war is not to be anti-US. Quite the contrary, to be the military super-power bully always willing to unleash its fury while ignoring the international conventions to which it is party to is being anti-US. Just who are the millions of aggrieved Middle Eastern and Muslim people going to hate because of this regime's sickness?
I do not believe that the United States will in my lifetime regain the respect that it has lost. I do not believe that it will ever again be seen nor respected as the fair arbiter of disputes between nations. I do not believe that it will be seen as the world's protector of human rights. It is a sad time for this country and the world. Yet, the sickness of the George W. Bush regime is our sickness, a sickness of its people as well.

most people it seems see actual thoughtful answers and think "I don't want to read that"... we live in a 1 minute society... if they can't read it in one minute, it's not worth reading... and they tend to like the "short jab"... or "unsubstantiated comment"...
my biggest personal pet peeve is the fact that everyone throws numbers around like it's Christmas, but few cite... and all too often, when you look it up... it's either partially wrong (not exactly what they said it was) or totally wrong and not even close...
I wouldn't hardly believe someone if they said Bush was a male without citation on here...

Do we, Absolutely! Why are there so many, because people feel that by making bold statements of great exaggeration they will get attention or they actually are stupid enough to genuinely believe the crap they are spewing out.

Yes, definately. There are some really good points made - about both democrats and conservatives - but they just end up being thrown out the window for a cheap dig!
