Because he stayed out drinking until 3 am and was hung over. If you listened closely, they did say....he had a music hangover, then a contestent that was turned down was talkin about them being out till 3 am drinking.

He was hung over. The actually said " he was having a music hangover." But one lady said that the security people told her that they "Simon and them" had been out drinking until 3 that morning.

he had a hangover. so did Paula, but she killed it w/ more alcohol, lol, jk.... his excuse was a music hangover from all the bad ppl the previous day. when that first girl w/ the cowboy hat, who acted drunk but i'm pretty sure she wasn't, just crazy and wanted to be american idol though she knew she sucked @ singing, came out she was screaming, and she said the security guard told her they went out drinking until 3 in the morning.....

They said he wasn't feeling to good after that awful ending with that bad singer.I guess it got to him...That's why.
