DNA is stored in the nucleus because it is much too large and unstable to leave it. DNA is located in the nucleus because it would be destroyed outside of it. The nucleus is filled with oil that prevents oxygen and other molecules from destroying it. Without the nucleus, DNA would be 'eaten up' by the damaging molecules (they are oxidants; antioxidants like those found in tea and fruit are good for you because they help neutralize the damaging oxidants) RNA is formed inside the nucleus. It is a copy of the piece of DNA that is needed at that time. It is small enough that it can exit the nucleus easily. It then goes to be copied, and it gets very technical from there. Like DNA, RNA is also destroyed quickly. Within seconds it is completely destroyed, but that is long enough for it to do its job. It is only a temporary copy, so it is ok if it is destroyed, as versus the master copy, DNA.

DNA is only in the nucleus. Its is to big to leave. RNA can be anywhere it is small enough to leave. Messenger RNA's job is to transport the info from the nucleus to the outside. Translation RNA is in the inside of the cell floating around to make proteins. They can also bind to the membrane of the Rough ER.

DNA is located in the nucleus, while the RNA is outside of it, but within the cell, inside of the membrane.

DNA is found in the nucleus, and mitochondria and chloroplasts, cytoplasm too, but not very frequently....

RNA is found pretty much everywhere- nucleus, nucleolus, mitochondria, chloroplasts, ribosomes, cytoplasm...
