Walt Disney World and Disney World are the same place, the Resort complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Walt Disney World is the actual, official name. Disney World is what it was originally going to be called prior to Walt Disney's death. Many now just refer to it as Disney World for short, but I still always refer to it as WALT DISNEY WORLD. It was named in honor of one of the greatest men to ever live.

Roy O. Disney, Walt Disney's older brother, dedicated the property and declared that it officially would be known as "Walt Disney World" in his brother's honor. In his own words: "Everyone has heard of Ford cars. But have they all heard of Henry Ford, who started it all? Walt Disney World is in memory of the man who started it all, so people will know his name as long as Walt Disney World is here."

Hope I could help!

Ive been to both. Disneyland is in Cali and DisneyWorld is in Florida. DisneyWorld has alot more to offer especially for older teens and young adults. There are clubs and nite time places for the over 21 crowd. MGM studios is a blast. Hope your planning on the Floriday trip. Disneyland is Calif is more for younger teens and youngsters in general. Go to Florida they also have a cruise ship that leaves DisneyWorld for 3 day 2 nights to Bahama Disney Island Great Honeymoon trip. My friend went and loved it!! You come back and stay another 2 or 3 nights in DisneyWorld. Congratulations

Disney World is just a short cut for Walt Disney World. Walt DIsney World is located in Florida. All of the resorts, parks, and every "Disney" place in that whole area comprises the entire "Walt Disney World" resort.

Some people say "Disney World" when the really mean "The Magic Kingdom Park" inside Walt Disney World. They think there's Disney World, plus Epcot, Animal Kingdom, etc. However, that is incorrect. All of it is Walt Disney World. All of it!

In other words, some people think the name of the Magic Kingdom Park is "Disney World". -----It's not.-----

Disneyland is in California, just on the border of Anaheim.

I've been to both within the past few years. Disneyland is in California and Disneyworld is in Orlando, Florida. They both are very very similar. Disneyworld (Florida) also has other parks like Epcot, etc...it's more of a spread out little world. California has Disneyland and one other park I think,

Both are good but I'd go to Florida - theres more to offer.
