Einstein and his circle would rate highly, so would Thomas Jefferson, Sir Isaac Newton, George Washington, Ben Franklin, William Shakespeare, Leonardo Da Vinci, Will Rogers or Mark Twain, Ludwig Von Mises, Milton Freidman, George Orwell, Freidrich Von Hayek, or (like it or not) Ronald Reagan, John Pershing, Winston Churchill, Oliver Wendel Holmes, Archimedes, Aristotle, Solon, Plato, Socrates, Mechanos, there are simply too many to choose from, but I chose people who thought for themselves, pioneers, and didn't just parrot someone else.

very debate able, my top three would be Einstein, Da Vinci, and Sir Isaac Newton. A case could be made for Ben Franklin. Hitler wasn't very smart, but he was politically astute.
