I would think it'd be harder for a man to recover if his wife/partner were having an affair. That's a huge ego buster.
Mind you - it isn't easy for either sex.

Really depends on the situation. But if I or my girlfriend had an affair
If I was having an affair, it would take awhile but me and her could get back together because she would still be hurt but loves me.
If it was her having the affair she would have to work alot harder to get me to trust her again. It could happen though because I do love her.
Most likely it would be more me having an affair before we get married. But after it would never happen.

it is harder for a man due to a blow to the ego and then a trust issue and then there is the comparison test of course and I almost forgot the one where you are trying to always figure out what went wrong when you felt things were going so well, so definitely the man

Hi Katie
It is impossible to answer your question either man or woman
each would have to deal with the situation in their own way, dependent on what life experiences they may have already been through, & how they cope with things
Once trust has been broken, it is hard to repair the damage.
People can forgive.. but they rarely forget!

There is reasonably no right answer to this question. The aftermath and healing process that follows an affair is ambiguous to each own person involved.
