what does being invisible on aim mean? is it like other people don't know you are online but you can see people? please explain to me

when your invisible you don not appear online to all your friends but you can still send/recieve I.M.'s you can also choose who to appear invisible to

once u connect u can be invisable to others and select to IM those you want to.. so your not bugged this is why people really prefer yahoo as u can get offlines whereas aol aim ya cant.. and that sux as sometimes u need to leave a note and cant catch up with the person by phone.. so.......
