Yes, they see one who is liberating oneself from the shackles of marraige. Sex has nothing to do with it, it is the fact that the divorcee is free from the crap that goes on in marraiges that most are so good at hiding but feel the pain of it daily.

I guess people are curious.
Some so that they can avoid the same mistakes
some realize that this is a big step and want to offer support for the newly single person as the know that this is a tough time.
Some want to feel superior (my wife /husband) would never do that to me kinda thing
some people use it as an opportunity to exploit
and for some, they are miserable people themselves and they are happy someone else might be a potential member in the club
