America would be better off now if the Supreme court had picked Lesley Gore instead of Bush.

Read the stories about what actually happened. By a vote of 7-2 the US Supreme Court decided that the manual recount ordered by the Florida Supreme Court, which counted only trageted areas of the state, was unconstitutional. Basically this is saying that you cannot recount a small number of ballots, 170,000 in this case, to change the certified election results of an entire state. Especially when the voting machine that was being used at the time, the punchcard ballot, was known to be unreliable. The US Supreme Court made the correct decision in this case.
Would you have supported a recount if the situation would have been reversed, Bush wanting 170,000 votes to be selectively recounted in areas that were beneficial to him (Republican supporting areas by 3-1)? I doubt it.

The Supreme Court simply said in layman terms - Enough is enough - The country has spoken - Florida voters obviously cant read - The numbers are in and counted and Bush wins. Bush did not steal the election - however the media tried to steal it and convince everyone Gore won - when in fact Bush was ahead. Every liberal seems to forget these truths.
One additional note: The left even tried to convince the court that the military vote should not be counted.

without a doubt we would have been better off. the idea of invading Iraq would never have been discussed after 911. the neocons would have tried to make their case for removing Saddam from outside the white house and they would have seemed like a radical fringe group. the military would have stayed focused on getting osama bin laden and it would have been a victory for the world after his capture. we would have money in our treasury to fund our domestic needs such as health care and infrastructure. we would have professionals instead of cronies running federal agencies. the success that America was poised to have after 911 would have united the country and the world for the better. we also would have been much better off, if McCain had defeated bush in the primary.

We'd probably be having regular car bombings like Giuliani predicted we would after 9/11. But maybe with Gore in office, the terrorists would at LEAST use green bombmaking components so the environment wouldn't suffer.

No. I guess you forgot to count the votes. The Supremes did not pick anyone so stop shoveling the manure.
