I don't know about you but when i watch stuff like Greatest bands of all countdowns and greatest song countdowns Nirvana is ALWAYS top ten and sometimes top five

also no one will ever forget nirvana when it come to those discussions it's just bands like REM, U2, The Rolling Stones and Metalica have been around for forever and are still current and the precious few years we had Nirvana and Kurt Cobain it seems to me that we took them for granted

I feel bands like the Doors, Queen and Pink Floyd are under appreciated

I agree. They put a immediate stop to glam rock bands, like Poison, Cinderella, etc.....Cobain was a genius musically speaking. Nirvana put its mark on the entire music scene like nobody since The Beatles. (I am not a Beatles fan) The reason they are not mentioned is because they have few radio friendly songs, and they were not around NEARLY long enough, and that is too bad. I have every single album they came out with and listen to them all the time. Kurt is sorely missed........

They may have had a lot of influence on grundge rock but i wouldn't go as far as callling them the "last true rock band". Personally i hate grunge so i don't like Nirvana. they really aren't that influencial or innovative start with. And just becuase kurt cobain was a cracked out drug addict who killed himself doesnt make him a "rockstar".

Well, they were great, but they didnt have that many albums. Id put em in the top ten behind The Beatles, Zeppelin and such

...Because in my opinion, it's ridiculous to even list the "best" bands of all time because even music elitists have their own individual music taste. If you like them, good for you. Not everyone does. Even the people who claim to know the best.

Their music wasn't that great dude. And Cobain, although extremely hot, was sorta fake. He had a drug problem and for publicity reasons, never tried to fix it. Maybe if he had, we would still hear him today.

Cause obviously most people don't understand or appreciate the truth behind Kurt's genius.

and it wasn't the drug use that killed him; it was his wife.
