It's not a name that most would like. If you want to try something a little different than the typical names, you could add an "a" at the end, or even change the spelling. ex. Ashley => Ashleigh
My great-grandmother's name was Alice. I chose Alyssa.

Some have even tried a combination of their names. Just remember that a name is forever, & usually forms their identity, so try something that they won't be picked on for.

No i honestly do not like that name, it will be hard for teachers and other people to say. I have always liked the name myia I think it would sound nice with your last name. Another name that I personally like is Abagail and it means a father's joy. i hope this helps

you say that it isn't sounding like arcade, right? well trust me her teachers will have a time with that! I know, my name is Chanteyl, and teachers are determained to make it 'Shawn-Tell', i even had one teacher tell me that I was saying it wrong! So, if it doesn't sound like arcade, is it more like 'arkwayed'?, if so, i don't like it too much either. Maybe you and your husband can come up with a compromise, and make that like a middle name or something?

I don't like it. She'll be picked on in the playground and at school because kids are intensely cruel. Teachers and the like will not know how to spell or pronounce it. Be prepared for her to get it legally changed the first chance she gets.

Arquaid sounds a bit too complicated to be prnounced easily by teachers. The name sounds pretty though.

Hmm. Sorry, no. And it's not how it's pronounced, it's how it LOOKS. Kids are still going to call her Arcade.

And if you like different names...argue for them. Come up with points.

And if he's insistent...just remember the mother fills out the birth certificate....:)
