i believe this is all a plight of distracting americans from the real question (iraq) getting a straight answer about our corrupt government is like trying to talk to a brick wall. we will not get any answer. if america really cared about africa south africa would not be a country of 20 milion aids orphans by 2020. this has never before happened in history will there will be a nation of orphans with no one to look after them. surrprisingly south africa is the 5th richest country. the diamond and gold minds there are being raped by western corporations. rather then face the global terror threat which is aids we were listening to praises towards to the woman wo created the baby eienstein corp. i guess this should wake up the american people in what is truly important to the governments world wide. globalization not people. one BIG CLUE : the american tax payers are funding the iraq war. 20 million dollars an hour is being pumped out of iraq in oil production. who is benifiting from these revenues? haliburton which is a privatly owned oil company owned by rich oil tycoons cheney and bush of corse part owners. also british patrolium. among other oil companies. the american tax dollars are not going towards rebuilding iraq. it is going to fund more war to get the globalists more and more money. i just wish my fellow americans would wake up sooner because this is right in our faces and the american people are just laying down ignorantly going along with out politicians and their rich buddies get rich off the lives of american soilders.

Bush said that we needed to send help to Africa in the form of Malaria drugs - and he mentioned that we had to help in Dafur. But when it comes to that ball player I think Bush was trying to illustrate a couple of things - "look at this person who had the wonderful opprotunity to come to this country and study medicine - and an even better opprotunity fell into his lap - (The "america is the land of opprotunity" angle) but furthermore, he didn't forget where he came from, and he built this hospital in his home country to help others (the "if we get out of a bad jam we have the moral obligation to help others get out of it too if we can" AND the "we have something to learn from this person" angle)
And then with that fellow who saved the other man by jumping onto the subway track (I dont know the right terms, we dont have a subway in Detroit)...well, he's just a hero, plain and simple, and I think everyone just feels good knowing that everyday people are capable of being heros. It restores our faith in humanity.
And after a speech that for the most part was about a war that many people do not support, I think that he wanted to leave it off on a note that made people feel a little lifted at the end.
As far as acts of terrosism by young blacks? No, I dont think that he is worried about that at all.
As far as not mentioned Oprahs school - I think she has sung her own praises enough about that, and that Bush was trying to highlight people that people might not know about, and praise thier accomplishments. Which he managed to do - I hadn't heard of either of those people before.
Peace

Buddy...you are way out of control here. Bush is the only world leader trying to help the people of Darfur. But when we invade that nation and help them, we will once again be criticized for imposing our will on the world.
People better start making up their minds.
