I'm in the market for a new vehicle, and I'm thinking of looking at Chevy Trailblazers. I was hoping some other owners/drivers could provide me with some feedback.

Performance? Value? Gas Mileage? Comfort? Repair Needs? Any years better than others?

I will be purchasing a used model. Thanks in advance for all your help!!!

My mom has a 2005 Trailblazer XL. I have driven it quite a bit taking her to doctor's appointments and the sort. I would give it a 5 star rating on all of your questions. There are only 2 problems I know she has had. The first is with the tail lights not working all the time...I am not sure if it is a fuse or bulb problem... I know the dealership said it had something to do with the fact that she lives on a dirt road and there is a lot of vibration that occurs and causes some kind of problem causing the tail lights to not work from time to time. The second is the molding on the bottom half of the doors came loose and she had to have them re-attached. I think you would be very pleased with this model. I would suggest, however, if you don't need the extra cabin room that the XL model offers, stick with the standard sized Trailblazer...the one without the 3rd row of seats. The XL has a very long wheel base and can be a little difficult to maneuver in tight places. The gas mileage could be a little better but I think that is to be expected with its size and performance.

The trailblazers have there good sides and bad sides. There were many recalls, including on the tail lamps as previously stated. The newer models are much better now that all of the 'bugs' are out. I drive a Pontiac torrent and am very pleased with it. It is a little smaller than the trailblazer but so far so good. I can say that repair needs do come up a lot with the tblazer. Just keep up with allllll of the recommended maintenance and it should be good. I have not seen many tranny issues, or engine issues with the oldest to the newest models. Good luck!

Start by checking the fuse. The switch is toward the top of the brake pedal. Go to the parts store and ask for one, look at it and you will know then what you are looking for if it isn't the fuse.
