I agree 100% with raychels mom. I work at the Cheesecake Factory in Westbury on Long Island. And I def. know what I'm talking about because we are the number one grossing restaurant in the country. We have the biggest sales increase per year, in the compant as well. All that aside, the money here, in Ny, is outstanding at best. I mean you learn the slow periods during the year. The summer...work the nights and the weekends. During the fall...it's a little slow. As soon as November hits we go crazy. I'm talking 3...4...hour waits. The average check is about $60, and that's nothing. I mean there are always those bad tippers, but if you work, and with honestly little effort you'd make money. They know me as the "CCF girl" at my bank, because each week I bring in a wad of cash.
Now as far as logistics go, it's a hard job. Normally, the rest. is packed and even though the majority of my restaurant is 4 table stations, it's hard. Yes the bartenders, the bussers, and the runners, help out greatly. The tip out here is 1.1%, 2.2%, and .8%, respectively. Usually we double the bar and the runner tip out. For example, tonight, it was slow for me. But my sales were $900 and I walked with $40. We also get a lot of celebs here, Tom Johns, Jets and Giants, 360 mafia, the Gotti kids, LL Cool J, you get my drift. They tip like crazy. Even the black AMX people tip nicely. We grat. parties of 7 or more, which is common. I mean the training is hard. I had 5 years experience as a Lead Trainer, elsewhere, and I still trained for 2 weeks. We sat in a classroom for a week and looked at slides. We than had to ID the food in the "window". 4 tests (food, SOME alcohol, floor plan, and desserts) and 2 years later, I'm still here. Great people and great atmosphere. I mean it's hard because there is a lot of stress, but the comradery is amazing. It helped me through college and whenever you need extra money you can "shark" a shift that you're not scheduled for. Good luck!

hi, i worked at the cheesecake factory here in atlanta. out of all the places i've waitressed at, i liked this place the most. you can make alot of money if you hustle. i got pregnant while i was working there so i got lazy, but i still did pretty good. tip out sucks though. at our store we had to tip out 4%, but who cares when you made over 200 dollars! the sidework was very minimum. the bussers cleaned the tables, got the ice, and got the glasses. you didnt even have to take your dirty dishes all the way to the kitchen, the bussers do that too!. the only thing is that the training can be hard and you have to take a food test at the end of your training. i think it was over 200 questions but it was worth it!
loved it while i was there, but i'm a mommy now so that part of my life is over, but i say go for it!! you will definitely make some money!

All the "club" stores -- BJ's, Sams, Costco -- carry delicious cheesecake in their bakery sections. They're considerably cheaper than Cheesecake Factory -- and really quite good!

A friend of mine worked there for a while, and she really liked it. The training can be intense, but she could handle it. She ended up paying off her credit card bills from the extra money. She enjoyed it, it was hectic, but she learned a lot.

The tips have to be pretty good as they always are crowded and the food is not cheap. I have not worked there but all the servers I have talked to seem to enjoy it and have stayed a while.

Awful. They treat your a third class citizen. Leaving them was the best decision I ever made. I'll never visit them as a guest.
