I have to do a report and I was wondering how do people think if a persons point of view could change because of what the media is expressing.

Sadly people are very gullible. If the TV says so, then it IS so.
As a result the TV is the government's best tool to brainwash it's subjects.
I assure you! You are already brainwashed and you don't know it yet.
DON'T believe television!!!!
(impossible, I know...)

Well as the phrase goes - there are always two sides of the story. Typically in media it is shown in one side only. Media is there to inform us but at the same time it influences us by only releasing the information it wants to release.

I guess an example of late in Australia is with the Muslim community. Last year with the riots it was - all muslims are bad. This year the media is taking a more two sided approach saying that there is good and bad within the muslim community.

I guess it just depends on what grabs more headlines.

If you're in the media you should know the power of media in influencing people. Media - TV networks, Radio networks, Newspapers, Magazines, Billboards, Streamers, Brochures, Internet, -- works in a way that gives people images, true advertising or false propaganda, that people believe is true.

I remember during the cold war how the US portrayed Russians/Communists as big, hairy, muscular people who kill even children. But when Berlin Wall was dismantled, the world saw how East Germans and Russians wallowed in poverty, with no house or a TV of their own, how they love to celebrate and how kind a people they are.
