lol most of those teen idols are alot older than they look or act, they're trying to appeal to the demographic that will spend money on them.

No not all. Back in the day some adults actually liked the Beatles. When my mom was younger adult women enjoyed the "teen idol" known as Frank Sinatra. I think it also depends on what you define as a "teen idol" European "teen idols" appeal to older generations because they are more versatile than American "teen idols" which is why much of that put out by American "teen idols" is referred to as "bubble gum" because indeed that is the only generation they can garner an interest with which is why they don't have much staying power as opposed to their European counterparts.

Interesting question. Generally, I'd say yes. I don't think any young girls are interested in New Kids on the Block or David Cassidy.
Unless your name is the Beatles, then no. But even they couldn't have stood up just on a cute mop top image, it may have lasted 1 year, but if they just had 4-5 hits, and not the large library of music to back it up, theyd be the Monkees.
Oh, maybe Michael Jackson too holds up.

the 1st answerer does not be responsive to what mmmbop is.. haha. I agree. i'm not on your technology regardless of the undeniable fact that, however the crap at the instant has thoroughly downgraded from the 80s and the 90s. Channels like disney and nickelodeon was cool, now they suck.

pretty much because they fashion the cloths and accessories that are popular with younger kids. They determine what kids look up to, what they want, and what they want to be like. But don't think kids are the only people to do this
