I know this question seems off the wall, but I'm doing research for a story I plan to write about vampires and of course vampire hunters and I was wondering if there are people today (Or in history) who actually dedicated their lives to hunting vampires and/or creating groups to do so? I know there are "vampires" or people who drink each others blood (very gross I know) but I have never heard of vampire hunters, nor have I seen them on a discovery channel documentary as I did with the "vampires"

I just typed in "vampire hunters history" and came back with a ton of sites to get started reading. From there, you should delve into some real reading -- ie. books and articles in print on historical vamp hunters.
I'd say that's your best bet for making your story original and not a take-off of Buffy or other vamp hunter stories.

OK yes, there are vampires, but not like in the movies.
There are pranic vampires, people that play on your emotions to drain you.
"vampires"-people that play dress up. People that go to hot topic, shop online for clothing.
And then there are vampires. People that have no soul.
Those people are called sociopaths or psychopaths.
When I say soul it is not that they do not have eletricity running through their body it is that they have no conscious, they have no morals.
They are typically real live killers.
Ted bundy, The Night Stalker, Ed Gene, Charles Manson, The Green River Killer, Stalin, Hitler, Napoleaon, Ceasor, Mary Bathory, Vlad the Impaler, Cleopatra, Dick Cheney...the really sick.
All narcissicts, all have something to prove.
Several things typically happen to them in their childhood, molestations, mixed messages from the parents, beatings, church incidents, head injurys, pursicution by other school children.
They start off by killing small animals. Then beating up kids. Maybe a child in the neighborhood will dissapear.
These are your real vampires.
Vampire hunters in reality are your characters like your therapists. People that study sociopathy or work in prison systems and state mental wards and watch over the criminally insane. Then there are your bounty hunters that chase after country hopping nazis.
The movies are all metaphorically and symbologically based off the persons who will not face their own demons.

I believe everything is possible in life... therefore... I don't know for sure about vampires, but I know vampire hunters do exist.
Vampire hunters are the people that believe in vampire and gather proof of their existence. They don't "hunt" them, they don't have the strenght for that. They just track them down.
This thing is not known because... think... if you were one f them, would you let people know that you spent your life searching for creatures people don't believe in? Or mostly... they fear them...

Actually there are vampire hunters. But that doesn't mean there's actual vampires though, just people who think they are, so I'm assuming that's who they "hunt".

I honestly don't think so. But if there were, they would hardly want the public knowing about it. What I mean to say is, hunting so called "vampires" would be considered illegal now a days. So if they were to do something like that it would be kept hush hush.

Vampire hunters are stupid adults who dont know how to grow up. If you are a vamp hunter whats the point of killing them? To save humanity? Because if it is..your wasting your time because we are all dieing slowly anyways.

i think there is just becuz anything u can think of someone has tried/done it (thats possable) which vampire hunting im sure was very popular in the 1600's i mean they burned crazy ppl at the stake cuz they thought they were witchs i'm sure it has been assummed ppl were real vampires and ppl hunted them

such as:Sean Manchester & David Farrant (they hate each others guts from what I've heard!!!)

yes there is . if you do some research on the net you will find that there are actual hunters all over the world.
