because some energy is lost to friction, gravity, air resistance, stuff like that. Energy can't be produced, only transferred, So the energy that goes into the machine is the same that comes out only a little less each time because of friction and eventually the energy is all lost to friction.

There's no free lunch. Conservation of energy principles say so, and they have held true for ages. The energy in = energy out, and there is always energy lost to heat/friction so the energy in has to be greater to or equal the energy out.
