White seems to be for most people a very hard color to see. It tends to blend into the background more than any other color.
If you are going for visibility, go with red as it is the most visible color that is not a ridiculous color.
I am partial to black or deep blue myself.

I agree with those that said to get it painted the original color. White will not show the dirt and dust as well as the darker colors. You should save some money on the paint job also by going with the factory color.

stick with factory white 1. color changes are harder and more expensive and 2. white actually hides imperfections in the paint job that darker colors don't

if you paint it yellow you get better insurance rates, white is almost as good. Dark colors or red get worse.

if you are worried about price, get it painted the same factory color since the engine compartment, trunk and doorjams won't have to be painted
if your not black gives you a cheaper insurance bill
red is the most expensive
black-less pigments
red-most pigments

Black. Elegant. Not red. Studies show cops pull over red cars more than any other color.

Paint it rust orange. That way the real rust will make it look pristine.
