I'm 16 and just got my permit. Nobody will let me drive because I don't know how to drive a mannual, but nobody will teach me. It is really making me mad and I would really like it if anybody could give me any tips or walk me through driving a mannual vehicle. I will accept anything!!!!Thanks

Go to an empty lot. Practice, it just takes time to get used to it. Start car in neutral with clutch and brake pressed. Put it in first gear (with clutch pressed), and to go forward kick up the rpms a little and slowly let out the clutch. When the car starts moving don't let off the clutch, keep easing it, but don't take too long. It sounds complicated but it just takes getting used to. And don't get fustrated because you stall it i stalled it 7 times before my first succesfull run. If you can take off from a stop shifting up and down while moving is easy. Just keep practicing take off's. Also going to Howstuffworks.com would really help if you read up on how they work so you can visualize what your doing. (helped me)

Well what you will want to do is to read as much as you can on a manual tranny..they may seem complicated but they are really not that bad. Just go to this wonderful site of Yahoo.com and do a web search like "Drive a Manual Transmission" That should get ya started.

Drive an automatic, then ask people if you can learn to drive stick. tell them you know the theory, you just need practice.

by the Way, to do it you put the clutch all the way in when shifting gears and coming to a full stop. shift up when you get to about 25000 RPM. It comes with practice, that's the only way.

since no one will teach you or there to busy too. the best thing really is drivers school. Parents can teach you but sometimes especially Mom's get very nervous and anxious making you feel nervous and anxious. just remember its really not the operating the car thats hard. but really you need to watch the morons on the roads. You need to learn self defense driving. I hope this info helps. and Congrats! on your permit.
P.S Dont let it expire haha.
