don't worry totally normal the shot puts a lot of hormones into your body all at once what your having is called break through bleeding unfortunately it may not stop and you'll have to switch methods give your body some time it might work for you me myself i don't like a period and did well on the shot but had to switch to the pill I'm having the same problem you are Ive been spotting/moderate bleeding for about 6 weeks now you just have to try different things till you find out what works for you. good luck

I have been on the shot for 1 yr and that happened all the time to me. 3 weeks bleeding then fine. Then I would spot here and there for 2 months. This kind of thing happens. I would say let your GYN (or gen doc) know that you are having these problems. Also keep track of when it happens. I use to put a red dot in my day planner. Some times the doctor will tell you to take more birth control to even out your hormones or they may tell you to wait it out.
Only you know your body. If it doesn't feel right get off the shot and switch to something else.

PS I had this tense feeling all the time. Kind of like I couldn't calm down. My Ob/Gyn said it was because my body could not get use to the hormones in the shot. And the bleeding for me was because the shot would wear off too quickly.

Hope this helps and good luck. :)

It can be normal. It also can be the fact that your shot is wearing off. It depends because every women is different. When you get the shot it throws a lot of hormones in to your system which will then affect your periods and the blood flow from your period. You can end up without a period at all, period may fluctuate, or could be normal. It will even out and get right, sounds like it already has.

OMG, I hate the shot. When I was on it, I spotted for three months straight. The same thing happened after the first three weeks when I was taking the Seasonale birth comtrol pills.

some people experienced bleeding when taking those kind of contraceptives. it's either you won't have period or always have it.
