*I mean no offense to minorities, majorities, or anyone. I am simply pointing out a fact in our society that just doesn’t make sense to me. Call me racist, call me stupid, call me whatever. This is my opinion and I am as entitled to it as you are to breathing.

4 Things-

First, everyone knows about the conflicts in the Middle East. Those are caused by extremists.

Second, there are religious extremists. In schools during december, decorated trees get reported by the Jewish League. In reality however, most Jews do not mind getting a Christmas present.

Third, anti-racism extremists. Have you noticed that in every T.V. show the characters are either 25-35% or in some 90% black? The real percent is around 17%. However, the makers may get attacked if all of the main characters are white.

Fourth-Minorities nowadays receive so much extra aid from government, schools, etc. that it is putting majorities at a disadvantage!

I just don’t get this. Why are the majorities letting the minorities push them around?

Exactly as fateridder stated, the minorities hold more power. But why do the majorities allow this to happen?

I think it can all be summed up in one word: Fear. Fear of appearing non sympathetic, fear of appearing racist, fear of the minority or what they might do, fear of the majority's beliefs, fear of everything. People are too caught up in what they should do and what is politically correct, that all issues are downgraded from the actual issue at hand to black vs. white vs. Hispanic vs. Muslim vs. etc. and who they want to piss off less at that time. It sucks but in our sue happy fickle society can you really blame the people in the public eye for being so non-committal? Would you want to go on Larry King and answer to all of America for saying the wrong thing?

I think the majorities, as you call them, refuse to believe that they are well on their way to being a minority. It sucks that anyone has to be a minority if being a minority means being discriminated against or subject to other unsavory behaviors but unfortunately that is how it goes. Since the minorities are striving to pull themselves to the top of the totem pole it only makes sense that the majorities should fight to keep their position. It is a dog eat dog world. The majorities have been getting nibbled at by the other dogs for some time now it's time the majorities start showing their teeth, set political correctness aside, and make a stand like the other groups have done. I salute the minority groups for fighting for what they believe in. I just wish the majority would wake up and start pushing back.

You have to be joking! Minorities do not remotely control anything especially in the US. Caucasians are now and will always be the majority ruling race. Look at the political strength, the judicial strength, the business strength, the stock market control, and so one. As for government aide take a visit to a welfare office and count. I guarantee you if you go do this you will see the caucasians are the majority there too. Unless you actually study this misperception that African Americans or others are the ones getting the most aide you should not assume so. There are centers for assistance in practically every city in every state. How many have you sat in from opening toclosing to see who the predominate race is that's taking advantage of the system?

Don't forget that the Stereotypical American Family was an invention of the Hollywood movie industry. Non Christians established what They thought an American Christian family was like, and that myth has been perpetuating and permeating society ever since. Eventually it got around to Ethnic Minorities and Racial Stereotypes. And now We are stuck with it.

The Muslim people and their religion needs to evolve!

They are in a time of philosophical developments as a religion equivalent to where Christianity was at approximately the 1500's, very very rigid and inflexible.

Facts to back my view are personal experiences while in the Middle East, plus my observations and analysis of their religion which to me clearly shows things like the inflexibility to allow in many Muslims countries other religions to, for example own property, to freely worship and like in Saudi Arabia for example, other religions are forbidden to even preach their faith, Not to mention the way they keep half of their population down (women) with many requirements on them that virtually makes them second class citizens even in their own countries! And finally their views on other people not Muslims like them, which they label "Infidels", and which really makes me mad, because to be label outright without first really knowing the other person or people is just stupid.

They need to evolve! Right now (to me) they are behaving more like a cult than a religion.

greater people now are against the bill than a are for it. So what "minority" are you speaking approximately? your self? properly, i do no longer agree. i think of you need to have a say and be allowed to take part interior the controversy. You ended by skill of exclaiming "we want healthcare now!" we don't have healthcare? possibly i became incorrect, I had assumed you lived on the earth because of the fact that each usa on the earth has healthcare. i will pray on your planet to get healthcare.

It's people like Kureyon who make this debate harder with their blind ignorance and emotional responses. It's sad that we really can't have dialogue about this because people who raise legitimate questions run away from the ambulance chasing lawyers and the people like Kureyon who will smear their reputation because they don't agree with them.

I learned in government that the majority rules, but at the same time should respect minority rights. This doesn't mean pander and give them everything they want.

Good question. I'd love to see more answers.
