I don't have a problem with it. Although I am a Christian, and a lot of Christians do believe that homosexuality is wrong, I am not the one to judge someone else's actions because I'm not perfect either. I think legalizing it is a definite must because although a lot of the politicians are largely molded by morals and values, actively using their religion to restrict the freedoms of other American citizens is against the law. I think it would be curious to see the divorce rates of a heterosexual marriage compared to same-sex marriages if same sex marriages were legalized. . .

What do I think about it. Well, I have an interesting opinion. I'm not gay by the way, but a realist.
Those apposed to it state that they are attempting to protect the "sanctity of marriage". But, here are the numbers:
63% of marriages end in divorce within 8 years.
Of that 63%, 68% percent end because of infidelity.
Of the 37% that don't get divorced, about 42% of those marriages have infidelity, but either it isn't ackowledged, or they "work through it".
One can just read many of the questions in here to see people are cheating left and right. So, are heterosexuals doing a very good job protecting the sanctity of and institution they get to be a part of?
Seems to me they are not, IMO.

if they're willing to deal with all the problems of being married, then let 'em. i think if i were gay, i would hope they'd keep it illegal. then i could say, "honey, i'm not afraid of commitment, but it's against the law. i hate the government making our decisions for us." then i would go straight to the voting box and vote 'no' on gay marriages. now that i mention it... i'd like to propose a bill to outlaw all marriages. then, no one would have to deal with divorce costs, alimony, prenuptial agreements...

I think they should be able to have their own private ceremony and write up their wills appropriately but not legalize it. Where will it stop? A polygamist will want to marry 3 wives and "just want the right to marry whom he pleases" just like the gays and lesbians. "Civil rights" may be an option??

I really think it is doing too much. Im not opposed to people being gay, but its really overboard. The same sex union seems okay tho.

I think, after all those debates and arguments I heard overtime, I realize that we have only one life to live. So i'd say, live and let live... If this is what makes you happy, do it. You will live once honey.

if they want to get married -let them.but I would never agree that they are allowed to adopt children, because I think that it is bad for a child to grow in that kind of marriage.children are honest and cruel,so I think that it would leave psychology problems on the child that live in that kind of environment.

I don't really. It's legal in my country. I do look down on Americans for their idiocy on this issue of human rights though.
