i just found out the birth control i have been taking the past three months has an expiration dat of 2005 so... does it mean it hasnt been working for three months? it is seasonale

throw it out and see a Dr get a new prescription if your not pregnant.i wouldn't chance it.

You would do best to check with your doctor or the pharmacist where you got the prescription filled. Obviously, they can't predict the exact moment that a medication will loose all effectiveness - it looses that over time. If your meds were dated 2005, I would think that there could have been a significant loss. If you have managed to avoid pregnancy so far - don't push your luck. See your health care provider and get a current prescription filled.

My midwife told me that most medications are still good past the date on the package, but she said that if it is more than a couple of months past she wouldn't want to trust it.

So I hope you were using an secondary form of birth control as well (remember the pill does not protect from STDs) and get a new prescription right away!

You've been lucky. Toss the outdated prescription and get a new one.
