When soldiers from New Orleans come home to nothing? What happens when they find out that our great nation failed them before they even left for Iraq? (Don't forget the levees where the biggest reason for the disaster) Why haven't we heard their story on Fox News?

I'm not asking any other question than WHAT HAPPENS TO THE NEW ORLEANS SOLDIER? THE SOLDIER FROM THE GULF STATES PERIOD. A lot of the answers I'm seeing are very self-centered. What you came home to something way worse than vefore you left?

Most people moved out and didn't come back. The corruption in New Orleans by the democrats in office really showed itself when this disaster struck.

They embezzled the money for the levees, abandoned the people, didn't use the buses to evacuate, left them to flood. The governor wouldn't even let the red cross and national guard in to help until it was too late.

Besides, I saw plenty of stories on it. It happened 2 years ago, didn't it. I'm sick of hearing about how a democrat utopia was riddled with corruption and deceit causing needless problems in that city to the people who lived there. It's a shame, but all we can do is learn by it.

Get a new place to live, the nation didn't fail, it is not the government's job to make sure everyone is happy, and to rebuild an area that never should have been built on in the first place. If people want New Orleans rebuilt, do it themselves Florida didn't get near as much money or help and they get pounded almost every year with hurricanes, the California wildfires are tearing up houses and they are getting no help, Denver is buried under an assload of snow with no power for 10s of thousands of people somehow they managed without government aid, the northeast recently flooded these people somehow managed.

New orleans used to flood every ten years or so until the levees were built. Since then, it's only flooded once, in 2005. I would say the levees did their job 99% of the time.

If you live near a fault line, you'll get shaken. If you live near a volcano, you'll get burned. If you live near a hurricane, you;ll get wet. If you live near a hurricane and your city is 20 feet below sea level, and there's a lake above sea level next to you, you'll get REALLY wet.
