punk used to mean, not courageous, but now it means some sort of punkrock stuff like spike hair etc.

It can either mean a dude thats an idiot-thinks hes cool when hes just a trouble-maker. There is another meaning for it. The other meaning for punk is to like metal music and have your own sense of "different" style.

Punk is all about freedom, acceptance, and making a better life for yourself on your own terms. It's an attitude towards life - a rejection of the things you see for yourself as being impure, a belief that you know what you stand for and it works best for you. It belongs to the rejected, the disenfranchised, the alienated ones who are ok with being all of those things in society at large's eyes, and create their own world where nobody is any of those things.
