Will Greeks please school the world on why we are not an insignificant country and why we're the best?
Plus, anyone from crete, or anyone who has visited Crete, who can describe it the best?

It is rather simple really :
When the rest of the world discovered meat we had high cholesterol already
When the rest of the world discovered bricks, Parthenon was in ruins
When the rest of the world were a mindless mass Greeks were free, educated and cultured people.
When the rest of the world learn how to read and write Plato and Socrates were dust
When the rest of the world learned about science Aristotle was 2000 years dead
When the rest of Europe was under Fascist occupation we were beating the crap out of them
Because you cannot say or do anything in science, medicine, philosophy etc without using a Greek word
Because we have character, nerve and refuse to assimilate or bent a knee to no one.
Because every one not a Greek whishes that he was.

I was born in Crete and I live in it. I have spent 1,5 years abroad (in Holland), but I decided to return to Crete because this is where I feel better.
I don't think there is such a thing as 'the best country in the world". Greece is a beautiful country but it is not perfect. Many people love it and they have decided to move here, but I am sure there are a lot more people who feel better in other countries of the world.
Don't get me wrong. I love Greece and I love Crete. I write about Crete and Greece everyday and I promote them on my websites. I feel great living here, and Greece is the best country for ME. I just don't believe that any country can be the "best country in the world" for everybody.
