Ok this is day two of my right click and left click buttons randomely stopping working. The thing is, they will work in a few programs still, but not in others. It's not the mouse I think because not only does it happen with the corded mouse, but also with the built in laptop mouse. I restart and they return to normal function but I'm getting tired of restarting every 10 minutes.

It's not a window interfering... it's not the laptop-built-in-mouse-on-off-button. And to the person who told me to buy a new mouse... as I said, I think it's in teh computer because it happens with the built in mouse as well not just hte detatcable mouse. The overheating part is VERY probable though because like when I put my hand to the ports, they are HOT, and my hubby usually has it near the fan when operating it but I don't like being by the fan because I get cold...

There is a button to enable the mousepad on a laptop, and maybe you are hitting it by mistake. At least on some laptops that is.

in the adventure that your sensible with this stuff i might want to attempt taking it aside on the grounds that there is probable some water nonetheless trapped less than the touchpad and buttons. The dry rice component is a sturdy concept the rice will draw out and take in any last water. If it includes it the trackpad and buttons should be replaceable with no need to purchase an finished new computer. And it feels like you've been really fortunate to have in user-friendly words this really minor difficulty.

This sounds pretty tricky. Might be worth taking to a computer store or a repair person. Could be overheating electronics, could be spurious interrupts from something or other, heck, it could even be some kind of virus. Doesn't really sound like a virus.

Make sure there isn't some window behind another window demanding to be clicked before anything else can happen.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and CTRL+TAB your way to the Task Manager. See what's running, if anything says, "Not responding".

Good luck!
