The purpose of dance has been unchanged since the dawn of mankind: to communicate and entertain. It's part of what makes us human.

If you;ve done it you'll never understand it.

It's poetry in motion, it's control. expression, passion all rolled into one.

A man that can dance always gets the girl (because women love to dance)
There's no better social activity for meeting people. A great way of exercising and in most cases extremely cheap (unless you drink like a fish and spend $100 on booze). Most dancers drink water in order to rehydrant themselves.

Dance has been a disipline to teach many values, team work, rhythm, following directions. It can also be just for fun or even an expression of intimacy.
