Have the kids on the team get out early in the spring and offer the elderly lawn-care, cleanup, etc. at a very discounted price. Everyone is the winner in that situation. And i bet there would be many takers. Let's help the elderly as well as the kids.

No, it's not illegal in Missouri, providing that neither the adoptive parents, and especially the parents placing the child receive any money in the process. As a former DJ in that area (North Arkansas, Branson, and Springfield), it can be political suicide to do an event like that. Instead of doing the complete planning of the event, and advertising yourself in the event, I'd give the couple some pointers, and go from there, without the work and possible problems. I also agree that some parents shouldn't be raising their kids because of their poor choices, such as drugs, however, there's a lot of different opinions, and unless you personally know the parents placing the child, and their reasons, then there's room for speculation and debate.

try to organize a car wash,
go to your local gas station and ask them if you can have a car wash one of the days. Then print out tickets that the whole team should try to sell. The tickets should be at least 2 dollars cheaper than the price you are going to charge the day of the wash. Then get the word out, and wash cars.
OR
go to costco and buy those big boxes of candy bars, and package them in big Ziploc bags. Have the football team sell them throughout school for a profit.
OR
talk to a manager of a restaurant and ask them to have a fundraiser on a certain night, where they donate some percentage of profits (usually 15-ish) to your football team, from every person that says they are there for your team. Then spread the word.
Hope this helps

There have been a bunch of football teams in my area that have went door to door selling pizzas. They wore their jerseys or practice jerseys when they did this. A group of kids would get in an SUV with a parent/coach and go to a neighborhood and each kid would go to a house or two and try to make sales. Check out the link below, or just google "pizza fundraisers".

how about a rummage sale? have everyone donate some stuff and find a place to have a yard sale. just advertise it all over the place, i bet you could make quite a bit of money. also see if a donut shop will donate some donuts and sell them for .25-.50 cents a piece.

If it is a summer fundraiser, i used to sell avon and they have fundraisers during the summer months to sell their bug guard or other summer related items like sunscreen, work with a representative and they will even assist you in setting your profit margin.
