Here is the website for Lion Brand yarn's free knitting patterns. They have sock patterns, as well as lots others.

I would recommend that you just search for free knitting patterns. I have loads of sites bookmarked.

Happy knitting

If you've never knit socks before, I'd actually encourage you to spend the $5, go to your local yarn shop, and ask for the Knitting Pure & Simple Beginner Mid-weight Sock Pattern. That one's made for DK weight yarn, which is what one might expect to be knitting on 4 mm needles*, and it's a good basic pattern to get you through the first pair, which is the most difficult.

(*although of course your gauge may vary, plus as a general rule you'll want to knit socks at a tighter gauge than the ball band specifies, so that might mean worsted weight yarn on 4 mm needles would make a good sock...)
