Good question! I have never understood that. It's some kind of fashion thing, I think, but I don't know. And it doesn't say how long you have to wait until you can wear white again. So techincally, every day is after Labor Day except Labor Day itself! What does that mean for weddings?

It is a fashion trend... It's even rare to see runways for that time of the year with the color white. Except last year, when it was a fashion trend to wear white after labour day. They changed their mind that year. But that's all. Just a trend.

it just came from a really old unwritten fashion rule. and originally, it was that white shoes should not be worn after labor day but white/winter white clothes were acceptable. and no, it is not paid much attention nowadays. i, personally don't wear white shoes after labor day & that is probably b/c of this old "tradition" but they feel more "summery" to me. i do wear white clothes though all year round.
