Use scrap-booking items and torn pieces of poetry pages ( made from photo copies and given an aged treatment) maybe also some pressed flower petals and/or autumn leaves. Then use shrink wrap to shrink wrap the covers and all the items will be protected.

I'd go through magazines and cut out pictures and make a collage. things you like, interesting things, great places. stuff that inspires u. Putting all those things together on the cover in a way that you like will probably make it feel more like its yours (not the poetry that's already yours but the cover). Put together a bunch of pictures that you feel represent u. A stormy day, a lone tree, build it into a complete picture of u. That's what I'd do.

Take images or scraps of literature that you don't agree with, and arrange them on your notebook. And about the shrink wrap, whoever suggested it, where can I find some? I've never heard of it.

that kinda depends on your poetry. does it have common thread? take your poetry say & try to depict that visually. then, use what your heart fancies. have fun!
